| Voluntary Paternity Acknowledgment |

After a baby is born to an unmarried father and mother, they can both sign a form that will make sure the father's name is put on the birth certificate and make him the legal father, without having to go into Court. This form is the Voluntary Paternity Acknowledgment

| Will we still get divorced if my spouse will not agree that our marriage is irretrievably broken? |

| In order to get divorce in Wisconsin only one party needs to testify that the marriage is irretrievably broken. In the eyes of the Court, if it is broken for one, it is broken for both. |

| Common law marriage |

| Some states recognize couples as married after they agree to marry and live together for a specified time, even though they never formally marry. Wisconsin requires a marriage license and an official ceremony. |

| Paternity presumption during marriage |

| When a child is born to a married woman, that woman's husband is
presumed to be the father. That presumption exists unless and until paternity is disproven.
