Regulation of wages and hours in the workplace
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is the main federal law regarding minimum wages, overtime pay and child labor, and it applies to most employers, including the federal government, state and local governments, and most private employers.
It is important to note that the FLSA does not regulate sick time, vacation, severance pay or breaks in the work day.
