| Employment law - rest and meal breaks |
Wisconsin does not require rest breaks for adult or youth employees. If rest breaks are offered, however, they must be paid, unless they are 30+ minutes long.
Additionally, an employer in Wisconsin is not required to give employees meals breaks to adult employees. Employers are required to give youth employees meal breaks in certain, specific circumstances. In the event meal breaks are offered, they are not required to be paid as long as they are at least 30 minutes long and employees can leave the workplace.
