Property Division-Presumption of 50/50 Split
In Wisconsin, the law presumes that all property that is subject to
division (although there are exceptions, generally inherited and gifted
property are not subject to division), shall be divided equally between
the parties. The court, however, may alter this division based on the
factors stated in Wis. Stat. Sec. 767.61.
