Grounds for Divorce
Yesterday, I was asked by a potential client if he must prove to the court that his spouse was "at fault" for the deterioration of the marriage before he could get a divorce.
The answer to that question is no. Wisconsin is a no-fault state and the only ground for divorce in Wisconsin is that the marriage is irretrievably broken.
